chick-fil-gay?
man, everyone’s getting indignant about the chick-fil-a gay rights stuff (as they should), but what about the mass murder of animals? hello!
many are speaking up about equality and rights for people, and i’d like to see more stand up for those who don’t have a voice. just saying.
you don’t have to be a vegetarian or animal rights activist to agree that the way that we treat animals in our modern world is repulsive. animal products are nearly impossible to avoid in some form, but maybe we can work towards a culture less dependent upon them, instead of choosing the path of least resistance because “chicken tastes good” or “steak is hard to give up.”
there are other things you can do, if you’re unwilling to give up eating meat. try purchasing shampoo that isn’t tested on animals. stop buying leather bags. it’s as easy as READING labels. don’t kid yourself, everything you, the consumer, does has an effect on our culture. so, if you care about animals, why NOT take a few small steps to make our society less dependent on these beautiful creatures?
at some point in human existence, we might have died out if not for eating animals and using their fur for warmth. i believe that we are past those times, and that it’s time to thank them for their sacrifices to us and move forward leaving them be.
gays should be able to wed, and animals should be able to live. our society almost past the point of treating homosexuals as inferiors. in my lifetime, i hope we completely pass that place. i hope one day it is a non-issue that people laugh about. i also hope some of these other issues come into the light.
just a thought. take it and do with it as you will.
